杰克·瑞恩（欧文·威尔逊）是个居无定所、回避法令的天赋。他单身来到夏威夷，希望这里如画的风光能给自己带来一些好运。在布满热带风情的地方，杰克很快发现自己想要的是一段罗曼史。
房地产商雷·瑞奇（盖瑞·希尼斯）掉臂当地居民的抗议强行建房。杰克在他那边找到份工作。可是，刚一开工，就跟领班哈里斯起了胶葛。瑞奇的左右手小鲍伯（查理斯·肖恩）警告杰克最好分开这个岛，但杰克对此置若罔闻。
