简 介
战争终究竣事了，从疆场上归来的奎斯上尉却由于大脑遭到撞伤而得了了严重的精神庞杂，除了曩昔生活在一路的堂姐珍妮和一个叫玛格丽特的女人，他损失了对曩昔的一牢记忆，也包括他标致的妻子凯蒂。
对于丈夫的状态，清高且极好体面的凯蒂概况上不以为然，照旧乐此不疲地为丈夫的班师举行了一场盛大的集会，但是集会上那些穿着鲜明的人奎斯却一个都不记得了，只是不停地念道着想见玛格丽特。凯蒂的自负心遭到了重创，并不想将此事传开的她不能不请来医生，为丈夫治病。
经过交换，医生发现奎斯的一牢记忆都逗留在了5年前的一个时候，那一年他和初爱情人玛格丽特落空了联系，唯一的儿子也意外短命，是以，医生倡议让奎斯和玛格丽特碰头，那也许是能帮助他找回记忆的唯一法子。
刚强的凯蒂以为这是对自己的欺侮，拒绝接管医生的倡议，堂姐珍妮只好黑暗找到了玛格丽特。现在的玛格丽特已经是格雷夫人，格雷师长在领会了工作的真相后，爽利地答应妻子去探望奎斯。奎斯在玛格丽特的顾问下度过了一段美好的时光，珍妮和玛格丽特都在决心躲避说起之前那些不愉快的工作，希望奎斯就这样幸运地生活下去。但感受遭到了萧瑟的凯蒂却刚强的以为，她和丈夫之前的生活是幸运、甜蜜的。她将儿子的短命、致使奎斯与玛格丽特落空联系的家庭变故统统告诉了奎斯，奎斯如梦方醒的同时也再次堕入了疾苦的记忆当中……
