简 介
赌场司理迈格拉斯基是个聪明能干的年轻人，深得老板波尼的爱好。刚刚和妻子仳离的他全日住在随赌场一路经营的酒店里，此时他唯一具有的只要奇迹。
赌徒派波输掉了一切的钱，迈格拉斯基给了他40磅作为回程的路费。派波静静分开赌场，留下了一个叫彭尼的小女孩。为了顾问彭尼，迈格拉斯基只得将她带到自己的房间居住，但这个小家伙给迈格拉斯基带来了史无前例的麻烦，本来照顾一个孩子是如此的费心。幸亏老板波尼的侄女克丽丝在酒店小舞台表演，她热情地辅佐迈格拉斯基照看彭尼，让迈格拉斯基感受好多了。
但政府有明白规定，赌场是不答应未成年人进入的。假如差人晓得彭尼住在这里，赌场将面临被查封。因而迈格拉斯基一面想方设法避免彭尼和外界打仗，另一方面四周打探派波的消息，希望找到他尽快将彭尼带走。但迈格拉斯基却在报纸上发现了派波乘坐的飞机发生空难的消息。看着眼前天至心爱的彭尼，迈格拉斯基没有勇气把这个凶讯告诉孩子。他决议带彭尼到她向往已久的迪斯尼乐园玩，虽然这样有被差人发现的能够，但现在迈格拉斯基想不出什么更好的抚慰彭尼的方式。
迈格拉斯基的前妻一向希望获得他一切的财富，当她得知迈格拉斯基的赌场有个孩子后，随即告诉了差人。差人甚至追至迪斯尼乐园停止侦察，因而迈格拉斯基和克丽丝带着彭尼和差人展开了一场“追逐战”。但终极还是在机场与前妻和赶来支援的差人相遇。
法庭上，法官对彭尼停止了问话。当得知彭尼的父亲已归天，迈格拉斯基一向对她照顾得无微不至而且果断不答应彭尼迈进赌场一步的时辰，法官被感动了。他并没有要求相关部分查封赌场，相反，他对迈格拉斯基的行为大为赞美。但当对彭尼发生深厚豪情的迈格拉斯基要求收养彭尼时，却因自己没有家庭而遭到了拒绝。
但终极迈格拉斯基还是如愿收养了彭尼，固然他们两个建立起来的家庭中需要一位女仆人，那就是克丽丝。
