　　妈妈（凯利·普雷斯顿 Kelly Preston 饰）的有事外出让康拉德（史宾塞·布瑞斯林 Spencer Breslin 饰）和塞丽（达科塔·范宁 Dakota Fanning 饰）感应闷闷不乐，妈妈一走，变无暇空荡荡的屋子里除了“无聊”，再无他物。令兄妹两没有想到的是，门铃居然响了，翻开门，门外站着的不是妈妈，不是陌生人，居然是一只戴着帽子竖立行走会说英语的巨猫（麦克·梅尔斯 Mike Myers 饰）。
　　巨猫的到来让康拉德和塞丽感应非常欢畅，它古灵精怪的性情和滑稽可笑的行动经常逗得兄妹两捧腹大笑。可是，随着时候的推移，这只巨猫的行为起头怪僻和使人厌恶起来，更让兄妹两头疼的是，妈妈行将回家了，可巨猫似乎丝毫没有在此之前分开的筹算。
