◎幕后揭秘
　　影片没有机械地将七桩案件罗列在一起，而是从两名警探的角度逐步展开。弗里曼的豁达睿智、彼特的血气方刚，都非常适合角色的个性。对白很有回味，全然没有惊险片惯常的白痴式问答。反角不仅在最后一幕出其不意地露面，而且有大段的独白。他说的话并不深奥，但难以琢磨透。影片敢于给反角大段台词以展现其艺术魅力，实属高招。结局虽然以反角死亡告终，但实际上是他大获全胜。
