简　　介

　　公元2020年，云集了无数顶尖科学家的天下空间站（World Space Station）正在停止一项载人飞船火星登陆计划。由卢克·格莱姆（Don Cheadle 饰）率领的4人小组成功到达这颗无人星球，他们在此发现一些希奇气象，随后小组成员也接连毙命。为了观察这起悲剧 的缘由并寻觅能够的生还者，空间站派出伍迪·布雷克（蒂姆·罗宾斯 Tim Robbins 饰）率领的救济小组前往火星。
但是救济小组也遭受诸多磨难，船体损坏、机械失灵、燃料泄露、成员灭亡等等，无一不在消磨着救济职员的斗志。到达火星后，布雷克他们找到了卢克船主，继而发现亿外年前外星人留在火星上的遗址和信息，这一切都与人类有着千丝万缕的关系……
