　　因强奸罪入狱十四年的卡迪刑满开释了。十四年前，律师萨姆出于道义隐藏了对卡迪有益的一份证据，致使卡迪被施以重刑。经过狱中十四年的考验后，卡迪来到萨姆居住的小城，起头了他疯狂的复仇行动。
　　卡迪首先出现在萨姆一家的四周，形成他们心灵上的发急。尔后他诱引并殴打了萨姆的情妇，又起头接近萨姆的女儿丹妮。恐惧的萨姆雇佣了打手攻击卡迪，却被凶悍的卡迪打得屁滚尿流。一天深夜，卡迪潜入萨姆的居处，残暴地杀死了萨姆家的保镳和厨娘。
　　已成惊弓之鸟的萨姆带着妻子、女儿仓皇逃窜。卡迪也一向尾随他们追逐到一个叫“可骇角”的地方。在暴风骤雨的早晨，卡迪爬上了萨姆一家存身的游船。一场殊死奋斗事后，可骇的卡迪终极与游船一路被澎湃的河水所吞灭。履历过此次磨难，萨姆一家牢牢地拥抱在一路。
