　　在一次办公室大停电之后，会计师大卫（葛雷哥莱毕克）发现自己精神恍惚的走在纽约摩天大楼的楼梯间，几乎不记得自己是谁、曾去过哪裡，更离奇的是，在这段期间，一个男人自27楼坠落离奇身亡。从此之后，大卫所遇见的每一件事，似乎都和这个男人之死有关，他的生命甚至受到威胁。为了找出自己的真实身份，大卫求助于私家侦探泰德（华特马殊），经过一连串怪异而吓人的经历后，大卫找到一个精神病医生，他帮助大卫回忆过往，但是也使大卫陷入万劫不复的恶梦当中！大卫到底是谁？是谁要致他于死地？动机又是为什麽呢？
