　　在众多由韦斯．克雷文导演的可骇片当中，本片是取材和蔼概较特别的一部，显现出他的创作野心，但建形成就不承平衡。埃弗里特．麦吉尔和温蒂．罗比饰演一对怪僻邪恶的房东，当十三岁的少年布兰登．陆亚当斯为了他的卧病的母众亲不致被驱离穷户区的住房而来讨情时，竟被房东和他们的女儿拘禁在屋子里加以逼害。此片的故事可以说是一则社会寓言，对那些富人剥削贫民的劣行加以批评，但导演气概在可骇片和寓言片之间晃动不定，偶然更拍出了笑剧结果，相当的复杂，但就文娱性而言还是不错的。
