　　法国南部某城市，一男人在街巷间躲避一群壮汉的追逐，掠取了一辆摩托小货车的男人慌不择路，与一辆轿车相撞后身死……经手此案的警察索伯斯坦（Jean-Hugues Anglade饰）找到自己昔日战友阿雷·莫洛（尚格·云顿 Jean-Claude Van Damme 饰），由于后者的长相和死去的男人如出一辙，死者有一个俄国名字米哈伊·苏洛瓦夫。莫洛得知自己本有一位双胞胎弟弟，后被贫病中的母亲送给某律师找人收养。
　　莫洛与同伴奔赴法国，却发现律师本人刚被枪杀，莫洛决议沿着米哈伊遗留下来的护照跟机票，前往纽约观察。莫洛在一位出租车司机的帮助下，找到了关键字“波西米亚”的寄义——一家和美国俄裔黑帮联系亲近的夜总会，而“亚历克斯”则是指夜总会内的一位艳丽女郎（Natasha Henstridge 饰），由此起头，莫洛逐步进入到美国俄裔黑帮的天下中去……
