◎简　　介

　　狂虐的飓风向苏格兰本地步步紧逼。泰晤士水闸首席设想师罗伯（罗伯特·卡莱尔 Robert Carlyle 饰）和前妻——水闸工程总监萨米（杰萨琳·吉尔西格 Jessalyn Gilsig 饰）被叫回到水闸做平安检查，而罗伯心胸芥蒂冷淡的父亲莱纳德教授（汤姆·康特奈 Tom Courtenay 饰）按照自己丰富经历测算并料定一旦大水袭来，泰晤士河水闸势必被击溃。他实时将此情况报告给了危机控制中心的纳什密斯。但是他的警告并未到重视，危机控制中心的专家不能正确地判定情况，不置能否的副辅弼竟向人们许诺大水不会到达伦敦郊区。
